One of the most common questions visitors ask is: ‘What will the New York City weather be like when I visit?’”
To help you plan, we’ve put together trusted resources that show the NYC weather forecast in both Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F). Whether you’re checking how cold it usually gets in December or how hot July can be, these tools can help make it easy to prepare for your trip.
Official Current Conditions (NOAA – Central Park)
The National Weather Service (NOAA) shows the official New York City weather forecast for Central Park. You’ll see the current temperature with °F displayed prominently and °C shown directly beneath in smaller text. This is the most accurate hourly and 7-day forecast straight from the U.S. government — no unit toggles needed.
Tip: On the NOAA page, look directly under the large °F reading; the °C value appears just below it.
The Weather Channel – NYC Forecast
The Weather Channel updates several times daily with highs, lows, and detailed conditions. It’s one of the easiest places to check NYC weather if you’re arriving soon. You can easily switch between °C and °F.
How to Switch Between °F and °C on The Weather Channel
The Weather Channel defaults to Fahrenheit (°F) in the U.S., but you can switch to Celsius (°C). Look at the top-right area of the page, near the Sign In/Sign Up link and toolbar — you’ll see a °F / °C toggle. Click it anytime to switch units.
World Weather Averages – New York, NY
World Weather – Ideal for long-term trip planning. Shows average temperatures and conditions for each month of the year (January–December). By default, it displays °F, but you can switch to °C. Perfect if you’re asking: “Is New York cold in December?” or “What’s the average July temperature?”
Tip: Look for the small gear ⚙️ icon above the weather charts (near the upper-right corner). Click it to switch between °F and °C.
