NYC taxis and ride apps like Uber and Lyft are a popular way to get around when you’re not taking the subway. They are easy to use and widely available, but fares change depending on traffic, distance, and demand. In addition, airport trips often follow special rules, such as the JFK flat-rate taxi fare.
